• To become fully licensed as both an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic you must complete the Aviation Maintenance General, Airframe and Powerplant courses.
• You also have the option of becoming licensed for Airframe only or Powerplant only
• Tuition is due prior to beginning each of the three courses. The tuition for each course is $11,666 for a total of $35,000
• Your study materials as well as the FAA required written tests, 1 each for General, Airframe and Powerplant are included in your tuition.
• The FAA requires strict adherence to attendance. We do hold make up days in case you were late for or missed a day.
• Lastly, upon graduation, you must pass an FAA oral and practical exam given by a FAA Designated Maintenance Examiner. The cost for the exam is $1,000 and is included in your tuition

The FAA is part of the US Department of Transportation. The FAA regulates and has oversight of and licensing authority over pilots, mechanics, airlines, aircraft maintenance, mechanic and pilot training – all things associated with aviation.

• Between 10%-20% of all A&P school graduates elect not to work in aviation. You will have acquired varied and unique skills in a federally licensed school. Your knowledge is highly valuable to industrial companies, utility companies, theme parks and similar non-aviation enterprises. Our goal to match you with the career that you desire.

An A&P or aircraft mechanic school is where students train to become licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMT), known in the industry as A&P mechanics. A&P mechanics are trained by a school certificated pursuant to 14 CFR 147 to train and certify mechanics to maintain, repair and return to operational service aircraft, helicopters, blimps, gliders, jet engines and reciprocating engines to FAA standards.

Furthermore, they are authorized to inspect aircraft, supervise maintenance, perform preventative maintenance, and alter aircraft and aircraft systems. International AeroTech is proud to be selected by the FAA to offer an aircraft mechanic school at our location at Lakeland  Airport.

Students can become FAA licensed A&P mechanics by other completing a long internship program with an aviation maintenance provider or by attending a FAA certified school certificated under 14 CFR 147. A 147 school, its curriculum, equipment, training processes and instructors are approved by the FAA.

You must complete the following courses and successfully pass all exams with a minimum 70% score:

• General Technician – Aviation Maintenance
• Airframe Technician – Aviation Maintenance
• Powerplant Technician – Aviation Maintenance
• Take three FAA written exams (General, Airframe, and Powerplant). You must pass with a score of 70% or higher.
• Take and pass the FAA practical and oral exams with an FAA Designated Maintenance Examiner.

Our program takes 15 months, 5 days per week. We also offer evening classes for those that want to continue working while attending.
